Training

Dr.  Merrell was born and raised in Pennsylvania where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Pennsylvania State University. He then moved on to the Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia where he received his medical degree. Dr. Merrell went on to complete a surgical internship and residency at the St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City. Dr. Merrell then returned to Pennsylvania State University to complete a urology residency that was followed by a pediatric urology fellowship at the University of Toronto.

Experience

Dr. Merrell is board certified with both the American Board of Urology and the National Board of Medical Examiners.

As an active community supporter, Dr. Merrell is involved in several community service programs such as; Yakima Rotary Club, Yakima United Way, West Valley Dollars for Scholars, and the First Presbyterian Church.

Dr. Merrell is the President-Elect for the Yakima County Medical Society and served as president for Yakima Urology Associates from 1998-2017
