About Us
Our Mission
Since 1995
In October 1995, Yakima Urology Associates, PLLC was formed with the joining of Urology Associates of Yakima and Urology Clinic of Yakima.
At the time of the formation, Dr. Raymond W. Merrell and Dr. Norman P. Shively provided patient care services at: 502 N 40th Ave Suite 1, Yakima, known as Urology Associates of Yakima. Urology Clinic of Yakima operated at 206 S 11th Ave Suite 48, Yakima, under the direction of Dr. Robert R. Newstead, Dr. W. Jack Lovern, Dr. Mark S Uhlman and Dr. Dennis M. Gaskill.
In March 1998, both practices moved to 111 S 11th Ave, Yakima, WA 98902, providing access for its patients to a new clinic and surgery center.
The purpose of uniting these Urology practices was to provide cohesive Urological health care to its patients and create economies of efficiency not only of its owners, but for the benefit of its customers, the patients. This goal has been achieved and is continually monitored and maintained by all owners and employee staff.
Our Facility
In June of 2009, Yakima Urology Associates moved to it’s current 31,000 square foot Clinic and Surgery Center located at 2500 Racquet Lane. This state of the art facility provides top quality care to our patients. For a tour, see Our New Home section on this site.
In August 2015, MultiCare Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital purchased the YUA Surgery Center to meet the demand for additional capacity in serving the community’s surgical needs. The Surgery Center is now called Memorial Surgery Center at Ridgeview. It still is located in the same building as Yakima Urology Associates.
